Have the students get the CD player ready,
find the CD (hopefully they haven’t lost it), get out their song papers, and
have them sit quietly.
Recite song lyrics, listen to CD, sing line
by line, and then sing together.
Have the girls come up to the front of
class. They have two choices: they can
sing it well once or sing it badly MANY times!
Then have the boys come up.
Call a boy or girl up to the front of the
class. Ask the students questions such
as “Is he tall or short?” and write the adjectives that describe them on the
board. Repeat with two other
students. Most of the students will use
this as an opportunity to insult the student standing in front, so it’s
sometimes better to avoid the words “ugly” and “fat.”
SBS pg. 35.
Recite list twice, have Chinese Teacher translate some of the more
difficult terms.
SBS pg. 36.
Recite patterns twice, the rest of page once.
Teacher asks the class questions about
himself/herself. “Am I tall or short?”
etc.
Students stand up based on various
traits. “If you are a boy, stand up,”
etc.
Play Question Game by rows. Teacher provides personal information about
himself/herself. Students respond with
the question. Points awarded by rows.
Writing (8 sentences) using previously
learned vocabulary.
Play Hide and Seek. Students use the words “warmer” and “colder”
to help their classmate find an object in class. Chinese Teacher will need to translate “warmer”
(you’re getting closer) and “colder” (you’re getting farther away).
