Hand out papers – SBS pg. 9/conversation.
On the back of papers students record the
following:
l
What is it?/It is a _____.
l
Where is it?/It’s on the _____.
l
Class objects (10).
Teacher says the names of each object. Students move through the room to touch
them. The students who are fastest to
touch the objects can sit down.
Draw a diagram showing the prepositions “in,”
“on,” “under,” and “next to.” Ask
students where the objects are.
Using “Teacher Says” students act out
prepositions such as “on the chair,” (students stand on their chairs).
Review pg. 9 from SBS.

l
Class is divided into 2 or more
teams.
l
One axis is labeled “A,B,C” and
the other is labeled “1,2,3.”
l
Teams take turns providing
coordinates. Teacher crosses spaces off
the grid and awards points. Questions
can range from easy (1 point), such as “What is your name?” to difficult (3
points) such as “Where is China?”
l
Most of my students call this
the “Money Game.”
Students write whatever they can think of
about themselves. Could also provide
incomplete sentences using prepositions or class objects.
