Play “Memory,” assigning points by
row. An easy way to keep score and
remember which tiles were turned over is just to write “run” or “jump” beneath
each row’s number on the board.
Directions for making the visual aid/memory board follow.
l
Get poster-sized paper.
l
Divide the paper into 12
rectangles.
l
In half of the rectangles write
a verb such as “jumping.”
l
In the other half draw the
corresponding picture.
l
Cut out flaps of various colors
to hang over the rectangles. You will be
turning these flaps over to reveal one rectangle at a time.
l
It works better if the flaps
are taped on both sides, above and under.
l
It also works better if you can
fold the visual aid up to the size of one rectangle.
l
When you use this in class
bring your own magnets – some classes don’t have them.
l
After setting the visual aid on
the board draw A,B,C and 1,2,3 beneath or next to the windows/rows.

SBS pg. 21 with prompts.
Play Charades again. Two teams, present continuous verbs. You can combine this with the “What Am I
Drawing?” game, drawing the words “YOU WIN” for each team, one stroke at a
time. This helps increase their
suspense/interest.
Read the “In the School” hand out to the
students. They read along. Do the attached questions together.
Dictation (10 sentences) using present
continuous verbs and anything else from before.
