Review rooms of the house from last class.
l
What do you do in the living
room?
l
You sleep/You are sleeping.
Review prepositions/class objects.
Pass out papers.
Discuss map of Taiwan, and how to spell the names
of every county. You don’t need to speak
Chinese to do this. You can just point
to the map or say the numbers. One thing
to keep in mind is variant spellings such as “Taipei” and “Taibei.” If your command of Taiwanese geography is
shaky I would suggest doing a map of Asia or
the world instead.

While doing map be sure to ask students “How to spell _____?”
Using the question “Where can you see _____?” have students tell you
where the 101 building, the National
Palace Museum,
and other places are.
SBS pg. 11 Recite once.
SBS pg. 12 Recite twice (prepositions).
SBS pg. 13 Read together and answer questions together if time.
Flashcards: Occupations
l What is he/she?
l What does he/she do?
l Play “Flashcard Dash.” Have
students stand in the back of the class.
Place a few of the flashcards on the front desks. Teacher calls out the name of an occupation
and students race to touch the cards first.
Those who are fastest can sit down.
In my experience it’s better not to play this game for long longer than
5 minutes.
