  • Students discuss pg. 31 for five minutes, teacher circulates through the room, talking with students.
  • Game: “Pass it on.”  Teacher takes one student out into the hall and tells them a sentence.  Student tries to remember the sentence, something like, “The big dog is going to the computer class.”  Teacher comes back in, and another student goes out.  The first student tells the second student.  After three or four times teacher has the last student tell the class what he/she was told.  Teacher writes this sentence on the board, and below this sentence he/she writes what the sentence was originally.
  • Students take out paper and pencils/pens.  Teacher writes the beginnings of five sentences on the board, asking the students how to complete.  Everyone writes the same five sentences.  Teacher then writes numbers 6-10 on the board.  Students finish the story.  (about 5 minutes).
  • Team game: Students try to think of an animal for every letter of the alphabet.  Teacher keeps score.  If time, can also do foods.
